MOM'S BROWNIES - from WDMCuz

WDMCuz says:This is Mom's brownie recipe. They make great cake-type brownies. For historical perspective, the original recipe came from a Spry cookbook. Spry was a Crisco type product from the 1940's or so but I remember Mom using it when I was young.

BROWNIES

1 Cup Crisco
1/2 Cup Cocoa
1-1/2 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1-1/2 Teaspoons Salt
4 Eggs
2 Cups Sugar
2 Teaspoons Vanilla
2 Cups Chopped Nuts, optional

Melt Crisco and cool. Sift dry ingredients together. Beat eggs and add sugar and Crisco. Add flour mixture, vanilla and nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees for 22 minutes in a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan.

Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting when cooled.
